1.Who these terms bind
You may use Wexon if you have the legal capacity to agree under applicable laws. If you do not, leave the app unused and let a parent or guardian decide whether it remains on a device they control. If you are using a phone or tablet that belongs to someone else, or filing stones or photographs that belong to someone else, you need their permission as well as the legal capacity to agree.
Wexon has no mandatory account system. Opening the cabinet does not create a remote identity held by us. An optional name and a short note can be stored on the device as a local label. That label does not open a file about you on a server, because no such file is kept.
These terms bind the person who uses the app. If you install Wexon for a household, a class, or a workplace collection, you are responsible for use that happens under your control of the device.
2.The cabinet you are actually getting
Wexon lets you build a private specimen archive on the device. You can add an entry, attach photographs taken with the camera or imported from the photo library, and record a catalog number generated on the device, a name, size, weight, a place name you type, an acquisition date, a source label for the stone, notes, and tags. You can group entries into drawers, including starter drawers and drawers you create, and you can browse them in a grid or a list, search, filter, and sort on the device.
From an entry you can render a card in the Classic Label, Dark Mineral, or Field Note layout, then save that image to the photo library or hand it to the system share sheet. The Field Note layout can include part of your notes. The other layouts show the photograph and the catalog facts, not the notes. The words "Archived with Wexon" on a card identify the layout. They are not a certificate.
Wexon is a personal filing tool. It does not identify minerals, estimate value, confirm origin or treatment, or act as a museum, a laboratory, a dealer, or a public registry. Catalog numbers can be reused on the same device after the archive is cleared. A number is a local label, not an official accession number. The archive is stored on the device. Wexon does not provide a hosted copy of your cabinet.
3.License to the software
Subject to these terms, you receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Wexon on devices you are allowed to use, for filing specimens and rendering cards for those specimens. The license is a permission to use the software. It is not a sale of the software, and it does not transfer ownership of the layouts, the interface, or the Wexon name.
You may not copy the software except as a transient part of ordinary use or as applicable laws expressly allow. You may not adapt the card layouts into a separate product, remove proprietary notices from the software, or attempt to derive the source of the app except where applicable laws give you a right that cannot be waived. You may not rent, lease, or sublicense the app. You may save, print, and share cards you render from your own entries, including the short layout line the template prints.
The license ends if you materially break these terms or if you delete the app and stop using it. Copies of cards you have already saved or shared are not pulled back by the end of the license. Your duty not to present those cards as official certificates continues.
4.Ordinary filing
Use the cabinet for stones and images you are willing to keep on the device and, if you export a card, willing to place in a picture. Enter facts that you believe are fair to store. Leave a field blank when you do not know it. Do not treat a blank, or a catalog number, as a finding that the stone was examined.
You choose the main photograph by the order of images on the entry. You choose the drawer, the cover, and the card layout. You choose whether a card is saved to Photos or passed to another app. Those choices are yours, and so are the consequences once a copy exists outside Wexon.
System permissions are part of ordinary use. The camera is for photographing a specimen. The photo library is for importing a picture you select and, separately, for saving a card when you ask. The microphone may be requested alongside the camera because that capture path asks for it. The archive stores still images, not a sound reel. Tracking permission, if the system shows it, is optional. Declining a permission limits that action. It does not by itself cancel your license to use the rest of the cabinet.
5.Conduct that is outside this license
You agree not to use Wexon in any of the following ways:
- To store, import, or share material that you do not have the right to hold, including photographs of a person, a private place, or a work when you lack permission or another lawful basis.
- To harass, threaten, or expose someone through a specimen note, a tag, a place name, or a card you distribute.
- To present a rendered card, a catalog number, or the line "Archived with Wexon" as a certificate, appraisal, or accession record issued by a museum, a laboratory, a school, or a dealer.
- To interfere with the app, to bypass a system permission prompt, or to probe the local storage in order to disrupt the software.
- To break applicable laws, or to help someone else do so, through the way you file, export, or describe a stone.
We do not monitor a live feed of your cabinet, because the cabinet is on your device. That absence of monitoring does not permit the uses above. If we learn of a serious misuse that we can address, we may stop distributing or updating the app, and we may refuse further correspondence that continues the misuse.
6.Photographs and text you add
You keep ownership of the photographs you take or import and of the names, notes, tags, and place text you write, as between you and Wexon. Filing them does not assign that material to us.
You give Wexon a limited permission, on the device, to store those materials, to show them in the cabinet, to use a photograph as a drawer cover, and to render them into a card when you ask. You also give permission for the app to hand a rendered image to the photo library or the system share sheet when you start that action. This permission is only as wide as those tasks. It is not a license for us to publish your cabinet, to train a recognition service, or to keep a remote library of your stones. For a given photograph or note, the permission ends when you delete that item from the app, except for copies you have already saved or shared, and except for copies that remain in a backup of the device.
You are responsible for the material you add. You confirm that you have the rights needed to photograph the stone, to import the image, and to include any person, place, or writing that appears in the frame or in the text. If a claim is made because of a photograph or a note you filed or shared, you will handle that claim to the extent applicable laws allow, and you will not expect Wexon to have screened the image in advance.
7.Our materials and marks
The app, its visual arrangement, its text as shipped, and the three card layouts are owned by the operator of Wexon or by its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. The name Wexon is a mark of that operator. Your license lets you use them inside the app and on cards you render for your specimens. It does not let you use the name as the title of another archive product, or copy a layout so that it functions apart from Wexon.
If you send a suggestion to bryn.silt@marlfolio.app, you allow us to consider it and to use the idea while improving the cabinet. We have no duty to adopt it, to reply with a design critique, or to pay for it. Do not send a suggestion that you are not free to offer on those terms.
8.Material and systems from other parties
The camera, the photo library, the share sheet, and the tracking prompt belong to the operating system. Your use of those surfaces also follows the system terms and the settings on the device. A picture you import may be subject to someone else's rights even when it already sits in your library. Importing it into a specimen entry is your decision.
When you share a card, the destination is a third party you selected. We do not operate that destination, we do not set its rules, and we are not responsible for how it stores, displays, or forwards the image. Links are not a feature of the cabinet. If a note you typed contains an address, opening it is outside Wexon.
Platform services that the device contacts on its own are not part of the specimen archive and are not under these terms except where they affect a permission you grant or a card you choose to save.
9.Changes, upkeep, and withdrawal
We may add, alter, or remove features, change starter drawer names, adjust card layouts, or issue updates through the platform's ordinary distribution. We may stop distributing Wexon or stop maintaining a given version. There is no hosted service to promise uptime for, and we do not promise that every future build will open every older local file, although the archive is designed to remain in the app's documents on the device.
Keep your own copies of cards that matter to you by saving them when you want a picture outside the app. An update, a device failure, or a clear you confirm can leave the cabinet on the device empty or changed. We will not describe that risk as impossible.
If these terms change, the revised text inside the app replaces the older text, and the effective date in the revised text is the date that governs. Continued use after the revised terms are available is acceptance, to the extent applicable laws allow. If you do not accept a revision, stop using Wexon and delete it.
10.Risks of a local archive
A cabinet that lives on one device can be lost with the device. Theft, damage, a failed storage write, a restoration from an old backup, or a deletion you confirm can remove entries with no remote original for us to return. Someone who can unlock the device can read the archive. Someone who receives a shared card can copy it.
Labels can be wrong. A name you type is your name for the piece, not a tested identification. A place name is the text you entered, not a surveyed coordinate. A source label records the origin category you picked. None of these fields is an expert opinion. Relying on a card for a sale, a loan, a classroom grade, or a scientific claim is a risk you take outside the purpose of the app.
11.Warranties and the limit of responsibility
Wexon is provided as is and as available. To the extent applicable laws allow, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement, and we disclaim any warranty that the app will be error free, that storage will be permanent, or that a card will be accepted by anyone as proof of what a stone is. Some applicable laws do not allow a disclaimer of this kind. Where that is so, the disclaimer applies only as far as those laws allow.
To the extent applicable laws allow, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of records, data, goodwill, or expected advantage, arising out of your use of Wexon or your inability to use it. This includes loss from device failure, from a deletion or a clear that you confirm, from a card you save or share, and from an update or a withdrawal of the app. To the extent applicable laws allow, responsibility for a claim about the app stays within the direct loss those laws let a contract address, and no further.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that applicable laws do not permit to be excluded or limited. That includes liability for fraud, and any liability for harm that a statute keeps in place regardless of a contract. The privacy policy, not this section, describes how information is handled. If the two documents disagree on a privacy question, the privacy policy controls that question.
12.Stopping use
You may stop at any time. Delete individual specimens if you want them gone from the cabinet, or clear the archive if you want the entries and their photographs removed and the starter drawers restored. Clearing the archive leaves the optional name and note on the device. Deleting the app removes the local sandbox, subject to backups and to cards you already exported.
We may stop offering updates or withdraw the app from distribution. We have no account channel through which to schedule that step with you. Provisions that by their nature should continue after use ends will continue, including ownership of materials, the limits on how cards may be described, the responsibility limits that applicable laws allow, and the dispute section below.
